"Born on a Different Cloud" is a song of the Britpop band Oasis on their 5th album Heathen Chemistry, written by frontman Liam Gallagher. The song is about Liam's first son, Lennon, and was first mentioned by him in interviews in early 2000, although he said that the song hadn't been finished at that time,

Johnny Marr guests on slide guitar and some backing vocals. Marr had also worked with Liam on the demo and had publicly said that the song was "lyrically as good as anything I'd wanna hear."

The melody, lyrics and vocals to the song reference John Lennon and the Beatles heavily. Lennon is often acknowledged as a huge influence and hero of Gallagher, to the extent that he often dresses like Lennon and, for a time, claimed to be Lennon reincarnated (despite being born eight years prior to Lennon's death). Liam has said that some of the lyrics were inspired by Frederick Seaman's book Living On Borrowed Time. The line "It's no surprise to me/That your classless, clever and free" is adapted from Lennon's "Working Class Hero", and the line "Breaking up your Mother's Pride" also seems to be a nod to working class mentality (Mother's Pride being both a reference to a cheap brand of bread and the stereotypical matriarchal Northern mother, and perhaps also the song 'Mother' from Lennon's Plastic Ono Band album). The line "living on borrowed time/you're my son and you're gonna shine" is also a direct reference to Lennon's song "Borrowed Time" from the posthumous album Milk and Honey. "Loaded just like a gun" is likely to be a reference to the Beatles song "Happiness is a Warm Gun," as is the line "busy working overtime."
