Boris the Sprinkler

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Boris the Sprinkler was a pop-punk band that formed in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1992, known for their zaniness and abnormality. Their aesthetic seemed to borrow from Devo and The Dickies. They display a sci-fi bizarro style reminiscent of Buckaroo Bonzai. Their lead singer, Reverend Norb, who wrote the seminal zine called Sick Teen, and also a former writer for Maximumrocknroll and current writer for Razorcake, frequently appeared on stage in elaborate kitchy costumes, such as that of Wolverine or donning a motorcycle helmet adorned with the word GEEK and deer antlers. They have released albums on the Lookout!, Bulge, Mutant Pop, and Go Kart record labels. The band's name appears to be a tribute to The Who song "Boris the Spider".
