Welcome!
Welcome to Wikipedia, Boneheadmx! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)
I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan. 09:50, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries
Hi! I see that you've been actively patrolling recent changes, as well as making a lot of good article contributions. It's always good to have another infantryman in the trenches.
It would be a great help to other contributors if you could try to make use of the edit summary box when you make edits, however. For other editors who have articles on their watchlists and for those of us who are watching for vandalism life is a lot easier if you mention–very briefly–what you've done.
For an edit like this one where you reverted the edits made by a page blanking vandal, a short summary along the lines of rvv (revert vandalism) is sufficient. (Otherwise people see that 37 kB has been added to the article, and wonder if it's spam or other vandalism.) Many thanks for your future edit summaries, and keep up the good work.

[edit] Bowles Hall
Hey, I've decided to clean up Bowles Hall since someone decided that it needed it. Looking at two of the pictures, mainly Image:Bowles Hall Old.jpg and Image:Bowles Hall Crest.jpeg I'm not sure on the copyright status.
Can you tell me where you found Image:Bowles Hall Old.jpg? I think you're the one who uploaded it, you did on Commons at least, and I can't check the history here. The picture may be old enough to be public domain, but it's also very possible it isn't. It needs to get tagged with the correct info or it's going to get deleted it looks like, and it's a very nice picture.
As for Image:Bowles Hall Crest.jpeg, again it's unclear. I'm really not sure if it’s tagged correctly, as a scan of a work is not an original work and therefore you may not be able to release it’s copy write. However, I think the following may apply regardless, and so it should be fine to keep:
Anyway, any help you can provide would be much appreciated! I'll look for your reply here.

- Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I'll tag Image:Bowles Hall Crest.jpeg with coatofarms then. If you could try to find out more about the old picture, that would be great, as I'm not sure it's usable currently. --Falcorian | Talk 23:23, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Criminology
Welcome to Wiki! Good to have someone else interested in more theoretical issues. I am passing through criminology by accident (it was not really one of my stronger areas of expertise). I noticed what I considered a grave situation on victimless crime but was thrown out by some Libertarians. This inspired me to update and upgrade the whole criminology coverage (and, in the process, go round the obstruction by renaming the page victimless crime (political philosophy): you might be amused by the debate I provoked on the Talk page to test out how rational they were). Feel free to contribute where you have the expertise. I am working my way through the Schools and Theories. I will be doing Classical, Positivst and Left Realism next, and infilling more on Social Control/Bonding, etc. Why not cast a young and up-to-date eye over my creaking efforts and improve them at will. Or do something to deviant behavior which is woefully underdeveloped. In other words, any and every contribution you can make is welcome. David91 12:38, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Most recently, I have been working on Right Realism so you must tell me whether I have managed to maintain an NPOV stance. I will be separating out Social Bonding, Social Learning Theory, Situation Theory, and Rational Choice to their own pages. Similarly, I will take Strain Theory out of anomie where it currently resides. It is quite good fun to think about all this again. Glad to have someone else to share the load. - Thank you for the pretty picture in Strain Theory. David91 13:47, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] REMO
Hello. My name is Random Task. I am looking for help on an article, and hope you will contribute. I was quite surprised to find there was no article for the REMO Drumhead Company. There is now, but it is very small, and needs work. Seeing as you're a drummer, I hope you can help. Also, please inlist the help of other Wikipedian drummers you know. Thank you.
