A ball game originating from Southern France. The game was most popular in the mid 1890's when middle-age men enjoyed a quick game after a hard days toil.
The game, a cross between croquet and hockey, is a competitive sport that involves all six players (the maximum allowable number of players) to hit a plastic ball, similar to a hockey ball, through a single hoop erected on the grass playing field. The player to score the most 'hoops' is declared the winner after a period of two 20 minute halves.
