Bonde do Role

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bonde do Role is an alternative baile funk ensemble from Curitiba, Brazil. They are the first signing of American DJ/Producer Diplo's Mad Decent label, who produced and released the group's first U.S. single, Melo do Tabaco, in 2006. The band is characterized by the blatant sampling of popular American music, and hooks from songs by Alice in Chains, The Darkness, and Prince, as well as music from the film Grease feature prominently on their first release. Their famous tracks are Melo do Tabaco (lyric by Alemão UC, from Smoke My Tabaco) and Vitiligo (lyric by Cello, from Bonde das Impostora).
