Bombing of Wesel in World War II

The German town of Wesel was devastated in Allied air raids during World War II.

In March 1945, the city was attacked by Bomber command Group No. 5 so as to ease its liberation by Bernard Montgomery's forces. Only 3% of all its buildings stood standing.
