Boiled Wieners
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Since 2003, Toronto's Boiled Wieners have been busy bringing their brand of quirky, classy, just-a-little-bit-dirty sketch and musical comedy to appreciative audiences across Canada and the US. Graduates of Theatresports Toronto, Bad Dog Theatre Company and The Second City Conservatory Program, Boiled Wieners are a talented trio of writer/performers. Their work combines recorded sound, live music, memorable characters and witty dialogue to create a brand of sketch comedy that is as sharp as it is absurd, as fresh as it is familiar. Their subject matter is usually universal as opposed to topical, thus affording them a wide appeal. This, in part, earned them the distinction of being the first international troupe to perform at the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival - the largest sketch comedy festival in North America.
Their entrepreneurial approach to producing independent comedy in Canada has given rise to the group’s own numerous touring comedy revues and has resulted in members of the group producing The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, which takes place in Toronto each November.
