[edit] Re:cleanup
I'm not sure what actually needs to be cleaned up on the Spidey 3 article. It's in decent shape as is. It's been awhile since I've read through it all the way. Is the Spidey 3 article the only one you are interested in? Bignole 02:49, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- LOL, just a touch over zealous with the images. Images do not need to be sized so that a reader can see them easily on the article, by clicking the image you can automatically view it in a larger format. Bignole 03:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Couple things. When adding information, you should always have a reliable source to back it up. Any speculation, "common knowledge", or rumors are considered original research. Wikipedia doesn't like Original research. Also, try not to sign your name after you edit. If you visit Erik's page, he has a lot of links to policies and guidelines for editing wikipedia, especially for fictional article pages. It would probably been a good idea to just skim through those. Some editors will get mad real quick over edits that don't follow the rules. One more thing, a good rule of thumb is that when you have an edit that is substantial (i.e. something that isn't simply copy editing, or rewording a sentence to sound better) it is best to go to the Talk page and discuss it with the other editors. [edit] No problem
It's fine. Wikipedia's policies can be tricky to learn sometimes. General discussion isn't flat-out forbidden, but it's discouraged for the sake of focusing on improving articles. There are forums and community boards all over the Internet for all kinds of film discussion, you know? Wikipedia's trying to do something different here. If you have any questions about anything Wikipedia-related, let me know. Like Bignole indicated, my user page has links to various policies that you can read about. (Just don't do it in one sitting, haha.) Good luck on your editing endeavours. You'll have to pardon an article like Spider-Man 3; I think the group of editors that monitor the article (myself included) are rather hardasses when it comes to maintaining strong quality. You might find most other articles to be more lenient to edit, but if you want to learn real Wikipedia talent, just watch how we do. :) —Erik (talk • contrib) - 04:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- To be honest, I think Spider-Man 3 is in the tightest shape possible. However, the articles on Spider-Man's preceding films, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, are not in as stellar shape. You could go to these articles and see what kind of improvements you could make. I'll try to help you along the way. It's always nice to have another hand. Again, any questions, you know how to reach me. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 04:15, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Talk Page
The talk page is a place about discussing what should be in the article and what shouldn't, or just improvements in general. Trust me, many editors will lash out for repeated "general forum discussions" that take place. Asking about who's in the film, or who dies, or similar types of things will cause issues, trust me I've seen it happen. From now on, if you have a question about what might happen in the film, I'd be glad to talk about it. I have no quams about discussing spoilers on my personal talk page. Let's just leave it off the article talk pages. Oh, to answer you question that rumor of Sandman's death via water is based on the trailer where you seem his arm being flushed with some kind of water flood. There hasn't been talk of his death outside of forums, and I highly doubt he'll die this way seeing as water and sand just make muddy sand. At best it would spread his sandy parts everywhere.
