[Bob Hurt] is a writer/researcher and retired entrepreneur and veteran of the computer industry. After 9 years in the U.S. Navy and submarine service as a computer technician and instructer, Bob served such notable companies as Control Data Corporation, Hewlett Packard Company, John Fluke Manufacturing Company, DFE Electronische Datensysteme (Germany), Orchid Technology, Mouse Systems, DEICO Electronics, Landmark Research International Corporation, and Data Depot Inc. During his career, Bob developed software, maintained computer systems, wrote technical and marketing documentation, designed circuit boards for testing computers, managed engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and sales teams, conducted training seminars, and served in various executive positions including CEO.
After retirement, Bob sold Rainsoft water treatment systems for a brief period, then earned certification as Water Specialist by the Water Quality Association. Bob has developed numerous web sites, including one devoted to curing cancer, and one explaining the benefits of water filtration.
Bob presently lives with his wife Maria in Clearwater Florida, and spends his time in a variety of activities:
- Researching technology, food, law, religion, government, taxation, politics, history, and philosophy
- Writing political, religious, and social commentary on his personal web site and blog
- Helping to remove corruption in government see these sites
- Playing classical guitar (recent favorites Heitor Villa-Lobos Etude 1, Preludes 1 & 3, Gavota Choros)
- Reading and discussing The Urantia Book
