Bobby LaKind
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bobby LaKind was a US conga player and vocalist. He sessioned with the Doobie Brothers from 1976 but in the early 1980s was invited to join the band, ironically just in time for them to break up.
When the band reformed in 1988, he rejoined and featured on the album Cycles (1988 album) but was forced into retirement by terminal cancer.
All of his former Doobie colleagues from the various line-ups played a benefit concert for a trust fund for LaKind's children in 1992.
He died on Christmas Eve that year.
