[edit] Biography

Legend has it that the groundbreaking band was formed in DiLiberto's apartment in Harlem, NY while Jauch was visiting from Cleveland and listened to some of the songs written by DiLiberto. The dynamic duo formed Boatzz when DiLiberto returned to his hometown of Cleveland, OH in the early summer of 2003 and was joined by drummer Eric Mzik (formerly of Solo Flyer) and bassist Dave Gibian. The band quickly rounded up fans playing shows at familiar Cleveland haunts such as The Beachland Ballroom and Grog Shop. The devilishly handsome band's energy-packed live performances are known for drawing a fierce crowd of the young, beautiful, and hip.

  • In a November of 2005 article in Cleveland's Scene magazine, Jason Bracelin described their music saying, "There's dizzy white-boy funk ("Steal a Bike"), along with rowdy new-wave free-for-alls ("Mexican Bourgeois") and growling garage rockers slick with perspiration ("Too Much Is Never Enough"). Sassy protest songs are sandwiched between oversexed, bedroom-bound come-ons and stoner-friendly instrumental jams."
