Bo Peep is a fictional character in the films Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Unlike most of the characters in the film, Bo is not in fact a toy. She is a detachable figure for Andy's bedside lamp (as are her three sheep), modelled after the classic nursery rhyme Little Bo Peep. Of course, with typical childhood imagination, Andy often uses her in a character in his play stories, often in the role of a damsel in distress. She is voiced by Annie Potts.

Bo is the "girlfriend" of Sheriff Woody, both within Andy's imagination or without. She is usually the most forward of the two characters when Andy is not present, being the one to ask Woody on dates or waylay him beneath mistletoe, while Woody often just grins and laughs sheepishly.

[edit] Notes

The part of Woody's girlfriend was originally intended to be filled by Barbie, but Mattel refused to give permission for her use. Several Barbies were subsequently seen in the sequel Toy Story 2 when Mattel saw the success of the original.
