bmi regional is a regional airline based in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. bmi regional is a trading name of British Midland Regional Limited which is a subsidiary of bmi (IATA: BD, ICAO: BMA, and Callsign: Midland) operating scheduled passenger services primarily within the UK. Its main base is Aberdeen Airport (ABZ). It was established in 1987 as Business Air and started operations in August 1987. It changed its name in 2001 to British Midland Regional.
British Midland Regional Limited holds a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Type A Operating Licence, it is permitted to carry passengers, cargo and mail on aircraft with 20 or more seats.[1]
