[edit] A note about linking
Hello! I am a member of the Wikipedia project for disambiguating links. Links in music articles are big culprits of creating ambiguous links so I wanted to pass along some tips to help you with your contributions:
- Rock should be (rock music) Rock
- Metal should be (heavy metal music) Metal
- Pop should be (pop music) Pop
- Band should be (band (music)) Band
- Punk should be (punk rock) Punk
- Soul should be (soul music) Soul
- Gothic or Goth should be (goth music) Goth
- Remember this applies to music templates too!
Please contact me if you have any questions. Cheers. Dina 15:10, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:TheFriendsOfMrCairo2FrontB.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:TheFriendsOfMrCairo2FrontB.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:08, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Deleted page "1568 in art"
A page you created, or image you uploaded, 1568 in art, has been deleted in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets the one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:
- No content whatsoever. Any article consisting only of links elsewhere (including hyperlinks, category tags and "see also" sections), a rephrasing of the title, and/or attempts to correspond with the person or group named by its title.
Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.
You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable notability guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content; it will be deleted again and may be protected from re-creation. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article. If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance.
