[edit] Blues Matters!' Story So Far

Blues Matters! was created out of frustration that British Blues did not get the credit it deserved since the 60’s or now. In the late 1990's, Blues Matters! started as a fanzine for a British blues band and by 2001 had grown to include exposure for other bands. Demand for Blues Matters! meant that by 2002, the 'fanzine' had grown to an impressive 120 page 'magazine' to give more bands and enthusiasts a voice, packed full of interviews, reviews and previews of artists, CD's, DVD's, gigs, festivals, music products, post artists' gigs, and exchange information on blues and music. In 2002, Blues Matters! launched as a limited company that reflected the magazines growth and new opportunities arising … Blues Matters! reputation for representing British Blues was soon recognized in the industry, and by 2004 boasted 3 Record Labels with 25 recording artists and releases, a music publishing company, a National Blues Gig Guide, merchandise, Blues Music Store, and loads more. So much can and needs to be done for the Blues but it's pretty fragmented. Blues Matters! umbrella was needed to help 'champion the blues', spread the word, and promote the wealth of talented artists and music. Blues Matters! success comes from trying hard to give the artists and industry the recognition and promotion they ought to have ... the title says it all really! ...
