From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Blue Star Camps is a summer camp for children located outside of Hendersonville, North Carolina. It was founded in 1948 by Herman Popkin and his brothers so that Jewish children could live in a community based on positive risk and are inspired to achieve and accomplish. It is nationally recognized and is also one of the largest summer camps in the United States. It is currently owned and operated by the Popkin family(Rodger, Candy and Jason) and also Tom Rosenberg. The camp attracts campsers from all around the world and nearly half of it's staff are from overseas(mostly England, Australia, South Africa, Israel and New Zealand.)
