The Blue Senturion (voiced by David Walsh) is a fictional character in the children's series Power Rangers: Turbo. He is based on the Signalman character from Gekisou Sentai CarRanger.

[edit] Character history

He is a robotic law enforcer from the future, but came to the present to deliver the "Millennium Message" to the Rangers. Blue Senturion resembled an armored blue Power Ranger with a white helmet. He was captured by Divatox and reprogrammed to destroy the Power Rangers, but was able to restore his default programming. He summoned his own Zord, the Robo Racer (a white police cruiser), to destroy Divatox's monster.

He assisted both teams of Turbo Rangers, until he was turned evil with the aid of a magic wishing coin. Naturally, this was only temporary. Blue Senturion was highly disciplined and followed all laws and regulations on Earth, and when not fighting aliens, could be found performing police duties, such as giving parking tickets, and helping people cross the street. His Morpher/Weapon the Senturion Synergizer, could actually function as a traffic light, and control cars (this was very helpful when the Storm Blaster and Lightning Cruiser were "possessed" by pizzas on their tires). He left with Dimitria to help with a crisis on Zordon's home planet of Eltar. On the finale of Power Rangers in Space, the Countdown to Destruction, Blue Senturion could be seen fighting alongside the Phantom Ranger against the Machine Empire.

Despite the fact that Blue Senturion was not officially called a Ranger, some fans consider him to be an "Other Ranger", since he looked like a Ranger, had his own Zord, and even had a Morpher (the "Synergizer", which could change from Morpher Mode into a Sword Mode and a Gun Mode).

[edit] Trivia

  • The Blue Senturion was an homage to the Metal Heroes genre of Japanese superhero shows, as he debuted around the time that the Metal Hero genre died out in Japan.
  • The Blue Senturion was seen in an episode in S.P.D. Stakeout, in the video game being played by the Rangers.
  • David Walsh wasn't credited for doing the Blue Senturion's voice until the Power Rangers: Turbo episode, The Accident.
  • Despite his name, he stated in "Stitch Witchery" that his favorite color is yellow.
