The Blue Mountains National Park is a national park in New South Wales (Australia), 81 km west of Sydney, located in the Blue Mountains region of the Great Dividing Range. The mountains reach a height of 1100m, and have been given their name due to the blue haze that hovered above the mountains produced by the oil from the plentiful eucalyptus trees.[1]
The Blue Mountains National Park is part of the Greater Blue Mountains Area, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The Three Sisters is one of the Blue Mountains National Park most important sites. They are pinacles of rock high above the eucalyptus canopy.
