The Blue Lacy is a breed of dog that originated in Texas in the mid 1800s. The Blue Lacy was first recognized by the State of Texas as the official dog of the state in 2001 by the Texas Senate.The name of the dog has nothing to do with it's behavior;it was named after the Lacy family.The dog was noted by the Lacy's to be a coyote,greyhound and scenthound mixture.
