Blue Bloods

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Blue Bloods was the name of the professional wrestling stable of Lord Steven Regal, Squire David Taylor and Earl Robert Eaton along with their short-lived butler Jeeves in World Championship Wrestling.

David Taylor and the renamed William Regal would later reteam for World Wrestling Entertainment, appearing in its developmental territory and later its SmackDown! brand.

[edit] History

The Blue Bloods were formed in 1995 in by Regal after he had split with his manager, Sir William to become a tag team wrestler. Regal recruited Alabama-born Bobby Eaton, renaming him "Earl Robert Eaton" after teaching him the finer points of the British lifestyle; like Queen's English and proper etiquette for dining.

The team feuded with Harlem Heat and the team of Bunkhouse Buck & Dick Slater over the WCW World Tag Team Championship but could not win the titles. They were soon joined by Squire David Taylor and a butler named Jeeves; which they abused.

After Eaton left the group, Taylor and Regal feuded with him. Taylor and Regal continued to team together until Regal was fired from WCW in 2000, at which point Taylor also left the promotion.

Regal went to the World Wrestling Federation and by 2001, Taylor joined him in the company, acting as a trainer and wrestler in the Heartland Wrestling Association, a subsidiary of the WWF for a brief period.

In May 2002, Taylor, Regal and Irish wrestler Dave Finlay opened the Atlantan Blue Bloods Wrestling Academy, a professional wrestling school. The Academy closed in 2005, having trained wrestlers such as Chris Hero.

By January 2006, Taylor was rehired by World Wrestling Entertainment (formerly the WWF) to train wrestling students at Deep South Wrestling in McDonough, Georgia. On March 23, 2006, Taylor returned to the ring in DSW to once again team with Regal.

On the October 20th episode of SmackDown, Regal announced that Taylor would be joining him on the brand. The two debuted the same night against the team Scotty 2 Hotty & Funaki, and picked up the win after dominating their opponents. Though the pair reformed their previous tag team, Regal and Taylor would not reuse the Blue Bloods gimmick instead portraying themselves as sadistic fighters. However, the team was quickly put into jeopardy in their second match together when Taylor suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee leaving him injured and out of the ring for 3-4 months.
