Blomberg B
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Blomberg B was a "B" diesel locomotive truck sideframe. These trucks were the standard EMD truck from the FT up until the Dash 2 line. EMD introduced the truck in 1936, naming it after Martin Blomberg, who joined the company the year before. Blomberg trucks can be identified by their prominent outside spring hangers, which afford a better ride during side-to-side movement. An additional advantage is its ability to widen its spring base from 56 inches to 96 inches.
