[edit] Condor or Silicon & Synapse

Acording to the timeline of video game, Blizzard North was knows as Condor. According to this page, they where named Slilcon & Synape. Which one is it? Reub2000 00:53, 25 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Blizzard Entertainment formerly known as Silicon & Synapse.

As far as i know, Blizzard Entertainment began as Silicon & Synapse. Their first game was a platform puzzle game called The Lost Vikings. They later renamed themselves as Blizzard Entertainment after the success of their first game. I think Blizzard North was a subdivision of the main company. Maybe Condor was a codename ?

[edit] S&S=BE Condor=BN

Condor was in fact the original name for Blizzard North. Blizzard HQ was at one time Silicon and Synapse. The companies got to know each other when they were both working on JLA-- one on the SEGA Genesis system and the other on the SNES. When Blizzard was acquired by Davidson, they recommended that Davidson also buy Condor. The deal was structured in such a way that Condor became an antonymous part of Blizzard Entertainment, and its name was changes to Blizzard North. The logo was made in such a way that the capital L and I in "Blizzard" almost run together into a U-- "Buzzard" a large carrion bird similar to a Condor.

The name Condor came from the Condor Club, a strip joint in the North Beach area of San Francisco. The original idea was Live Nude Games, and Condor was seen as a less overt, more ambiguous way to express this idea.

[edit] Claims of cancelled and upcoming game being "believed as the third installment in the Diablo series"

Eh, there's two references in this article to the possible development of Diablo 3 that seem very much like original research.

"Geoff Fraizer of Blizzard Entertainment has since said the canceled game was a "Blizzard North kind of game", from which some draw the conclusion that "Diablo 3" has been canceled."

and

"On 1 August 2005, Blizzard Entertainment announced the shutting down of Blizzard North, saying that it will move its remaining employees to its head offices to resume work on an “unannounced project" which most believe is the third installment in the Diablo series."

The first one might be okay, but without a citation it seems like original research to say that people have drawn a certain conclusion. The second one, saying that "most people" believe that the unnanounced project is Diablo 3, definitely needs to get a citation, I think. Can we either get sources or change the language a bit? T. S. If there`s no citation, the quote should be removed. there will definitely be no diablo 3 in the near future.
