Blessington (Baile Coimin in Irish), is a town in County Wicklow, Ireland. Located on the N81 road from Dublin to Tullow. The town is famous for its lakes which span about 5,000 acres (20 km²). The Blessington Lakes were formed 50 years ago by the building of the Poulaphouca Dam and hydroelectric power station and today serve the purpose of providing the power and water supply County Dublin.
