The anime version of Bleach is done by Studio Pierrot and directed by Noriyuki Abe. It is broadcast on TV Tokyo at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

On March 15, 2006, the television, home video and merchandising rights of the Bleach anime were licensed by the TV Tokyo Corporation and Shueisha Inc to VIZ Media for the Americas, Europe, and Oceania. Bleach began broadcasting in Canada on September 8, 2006 at 10:30 p.m. ET on YTV's Bionix block and in the United States the following evening at 12:30 a.m. ET on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Since October 29, 2006, Bleach has been airing in the 12:00 ET time slot on Adult Swim.

Bleach Soul Sonic is a seiyū event that took place in the summer of 2005 and is set to take place in the summer of 2006. Seiyuu talk about themselves and perform in front of an audience. The event is hosted by Mitsuaki Madono, Kon's seiyū.

Bleach: Memories of Nobody is a film scheduled to arrive in Japanese theaters December 2006. It is set right after the Soul Society arc with Ichigo back on the living world fending off hollows, when there is a new crisis that threatens to "collapse the world".
