Don Blaheta (aka blahedo) is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. His area of specialty is Natural Language Processing/Computational Linguistics; information about other areas both of CS and of Linguistics are also lodged somewhere in his brain.
Outside the ivory tower, he also knows quite a bit about knitting and ballroom dancing, and has interests in music, the Roman Catholic Church, and progressive politics.
[edit] Coming of age
blahedo made his 1,000th Wikipedia edit shortly after midnight CDT on 10 May 2006. As of that time, he had edited 553 distinct pages, for an average of 1.8 edits per page; 742 of the edits were in the article namespace, in addition to 30 User edits, 43 images, 20 templates, 15 project edits, 6 categories, and the remainder on various talk pages. He had been editing for almost exactly 17 months.
[edit] Current projects
I found a bunch of high schools with manually-created tables as infoboxes, and since Template:Infobox University didn't quite fit and Template:Infobox school was too general, I designed Template:Infobox Secondary school, and am currently in the process of seeding the wikispace with them, converting a lot of manual tables, an occasional "school" infobox, and creating a few new ones on articles that are sufficiently fleshed out. If you find a high school with no or a nonstandard infobox, feel free to add it yourself or leave me a note on my talk page!
I have been working on and off at cleaning up the pages on Apocrypha, which are currently a big mess.
Following my recent trip to Clemson University, I have been working on articles and submitting photos related to the school, the town, and some of its famous people.
