[edit] Argument for why this page should stay in Wikipedia
This article got flagged with a quick delete (I'm not even sure that newbie-me didn't accidentally paste it in there myself, to be honest.) Anyway, there was no explanation of why it was put there, but here's my argument for why this person (an all Ontario Hockey League players) are noteworthy. Note: I have also added more context to this article, so it's more complete now than it was before anyway.
[edit] Why'd it get the quick-delete?
I'm guessing that the Blake Parlett article was contested because of the Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion section .... "Unremarkable people or groups/Vanity Pages. An article about a real person, group of people, band, or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject."
[edit] The OHL is an elite amateur league, considered equivalent to U.S. college hockey
U.S. college hockey teams and the OHL teams are often in competition to draft the same players. That's the big decision elite players have to make, whether to play U.S. college hockey, or in one of the Canadian leagues ( OHL, WHL, or QMJL ).
According to Wikipedia:Notability (people), an article is fine if it's about "Sportspeople who have played ... at the highest level in mainly amateur sports, including college sports in the United States." In fact, they can count as notable even if all they did was get nominated to the team and sit on the bench forever.
