Blakewill & Harris

Blakewill & Harris (Marc Blakewill and James Harris) are a UK-based comedy writing partnership, with credits on television, radio and the stage.

They have written on the popular ITV topical animation show 2DTV, as well as The 11 O'Clock Show (Channel 4) and The Sitcom Trials (ITV) - and have written caustic put-downs for Anne Robinson on The Weakest Link.

On radio they have written on Weekending, The Bearded Ladies and This Day (all BBC Radio 4) as well as The News Huddlines and Parsons & Naylor's Pull-Out Sections (both BBC Radio 2). They have also had topical material performed on Radio Five Live.

For the stage, Blakewill & Harris have contributed to over a thousand performances of NewsRevue, the Guinness world record holder for the world's longest running live comedy show. They have also written extensively on The Treason Show, Ladies Monthly and Three Girls In A Boat, as well as HMS Comedy's Evolution and Revolution.

Marc Blakewill & James Harris were awarded the inaugural Fringe Report award for Best Comedy Writers in 2003.


In 1998, James Harris founded the collaborative writing group HMS Comedy, and together with Marc Blakewill and others, produced two Edinburgh stage shows and a London stand-up comedy season.

James Harris also writes with Charlotte Reather.
