Blacklick Creek (Ohio)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blacklick Creek is a tributary stream of Big Walnut Creek in Franklin County, Ohio. The 27 mile long rock and slate bed creek has its headwaters near Walnut Street in Plain Township in northeastern Franklin County. The stream meets the Big Walnut Creek in Columbus, Ohio near Hamilton Road. The creek gets its name from the Native Americans who lived in the area and named the creek Black Lick because of the animals frequented the creek to lick the black colored salt stones in the creek.
