Blackjack (band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blackjack was a band featuring Michael Bolton and Bruce Kulick.

After Blackjack, Bruce Kulick played on the Michael Bolton solo albums Michael Bolton and Everybody's Crazy. Bruce Kulick then joined Kiss. Bruce Kulick played on part of the Michael Bolton album The Hunger while he was in Kiss. Michael Bolton also co-wrote the Kiss song "Forever" with Kiss's Paul Stanley.

Note: The album Michael Bolton should not be confused with the album Michael Bolotin. Michael Bolton released two self-titled albums, the first by his birth name, "Bolotin", the other after he began using the last name "Bolton". Bruce Kulick played on the second one.

The other two members of the band were Sandy Gennaro, who went on to play drums for Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett, Bo Diddley, and countless others. He is still working in the industry and teaches at The Collective in Manhattan. The bass player was Jimmy Haslip, who went on to become a major force in Jazz Fusion playing bass for the Yellow Jackets.
