Blackburn is a small town in West Lothian, Scotland with a population of approximately 4800. It is situated about 20 miles from Edinburgh along the old M8 towards Glasgow. Not far from Blackburn is Livingston, which is only 5 miles away which hosts a large number of electronic factories and a shopping centre.
Although a small town, it hosts a large Secondary School - St Kentigern's Academy - which draws Roman Catholic pupils from surrounding towns.
