Black Out is the second album released by band The Good Life on March 4, 2002 by Saddle Creek Records. The Good Life is a side-project by Tim Kasher of Cursive. The album Black Out was referred to on Bright Eyes's 2002 album Lifted. This album is 14 songs running approximately 50:08.

Unlike The Good Life's 2004 release Album of the Year, this album seems to be less folk and infused with more techno-sounding beats, retaining a sound similar to, yet more eclectic than their previous release, Novena on a Nocturn.

The song "Drinking with the Girls" is used in the Emogame as one of the main songs.

This album featured three songs entitled "Black Out".

Many of the songs deal with the aftermath of the bitter divorce that Tim Kasher experienced. Much of his divorce is also documented on the 2000 Cursive album Domestica.

This album is the 43rd release of Saddle Creek Records.
