The Black-headed Bulbul Pycnonotus atriceps is a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is called merbah siam in Malay. It is common in lowland forests, and well-distributed all over Peninsular Malaysia and West Malaysia. It has bright-yellow plumage with a black bluish glossy head, and blue eyes. it is an insectivor-frugivor bird, and takes small fruit as the main diet. It closely resembles the Black-crested Bulbul, but lacks the crest. It flies in small flocks, comprising 6-8 individuals. They are the major member in bird-wave.
