SOE has been embroiled in controversy within online gaming communities [1] as result of a tendancy to drastically change gameplay long after games has been released [2], most natably within EverQuest and Star Wars Galaxies [3]. The most severe example of this was the implementation of NGE, which "disenfranchised" many already established Star Wars Galaxies subscribers [4]
