Bistro 990
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bistro 990 is one of Toronto's best known restaurants. The bistro serves Provençal style French cuisine in an informal atmosphere. It was opened in 1988 by chef Chris Klugman, who was responsible for several notable Toronto restaurants. The current chef is Franco Belvedere.
The restaurant is best known as the most popular Toronto eatery for actors and other celebrities. It is located on Bay Street and Wellesley, just opposite the elite Sutton Place Hotel, and near most of Toronto's other luxury hotels. This district is also the centre of the annual Toronto International Film Festival. The Bistro has thus become popular among visiting celebrities. The Toronto Star once referred to it as the "unofficial clubhouse" of the festival. At one time or another most major film stars have been seen eating at the Bistro.
