Bishopston is the name of an electoral ward, a community and a village in the City and County of Swansea, South Wales. The community has its own community council. Most of the area is rural consisting of farmland and small villages

The electoral ward of Bishopston consists of some or all of the following areas: Barland Common, Caswell, Clyne Common, Bishopston, Manselfield, Murton, Oldway, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. It is bordered by the Bristol Channel to the south; Pennard to the west; Fairwood to the north; and Mayals, West Cross and Newton to the east.

Local beaches include Brandy Cove, Caswell Bay and Pwll-Du.

[edit] Bishopston village

The village of Bishopston (Welsh: Llandeilo Ferwallt) is located in the Gower Peninsula within the ward about 5 miles (8Km) south west of Swansea City Centre. It is one of the largest villages on the Gower. The village has its own rugby club Bishopston RFC and its own comprehensive school Bishopston Comprehensive.

The Bishopston Church, located at the head of Bishopston Valley is dedicated to St. Teilo who gives the village it's Welsh name.

Bisopston also contains it's own primary and comprehensive school. The comprehensive school, Bishopston Comprehensive, is rated amongst the top comprehensive schools in Swansea.
