Birchanger

Birchanger is a village and civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England, nestled between Bishop's Stortford (in Hertfordshire to the south-west), Stansted Mountfitchet (to the north) and London Stansted Airport (to the east). According to the 2001 census it had a population of 987. The name is derived from the old saxon - hanger meaning hill and there is a Birch wood on the hill.
