Bio-geometric integration

Bio-geometric Integration (BGI) is a form of chiropractic developed by Dr. Sue Brown. According to BGI, the body will store old traumas, from physical stress, emotional shock, and chemical toxins in energy patterns that reside within the physical tissues of the body. A chiropractor trained in the method of BGI will attempt to notice where the subluxations in a patient's body lie according to a system of links found in these energy patterns. The BGI chiropractor will feel a patient's body for differences in tone, from flaccid to very tight. The body in a state of perfact balance and harmony will have a uniform tone to its musculature, and thus areas where great differences are felt in tone from one part of the body to the next are clearly places of stored energy waiting to be released through manipulation. In general a BGI chiropractor will work on a nearly energetic level, with highly non-invasive manipulations, only moving to the manipulation of the spine and skeletal system when the patient's body shows a need for a deeper level of energy release.
BGI is a relatively new approach to chiropractic, but was recently featured in The American Chiropractor magazine as one of the “Ten Great Chiropractic Techniques.”
