Bintulu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Physically, Bintulu over the years has changed a lot. The new Bintulu is a premier, well-planned and environmentally attractive industrial town developed by the Bintulu Developement Authority. Bintulu has a diverse cultural and religious background from a population of over 100,000 covering an area of about 12,500 square kilometers. Natural and luxuriant tropical rainforest is well conserved and preserved despite being a booming industrial centre brought about by the implementation of mammoth and multi-billion ringgit industrial projects.

Above all, being a town geographically situated half way between Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu is a central gateway to tourist spots like Bakun Resort, Niah Cave, Mulu National Park, Longan Bunut National Park, Lambir National Park, Sibuti Wildlife Sanctuary, Rejang Pelagus, Belaga and the Bario Highland.

Furthermore, Bintulu is easily accessible by air and road. The completion of the Pan-Borneo Highway has connected Bintulu by road to all major towns and places of interest in Sarawak. Soon, Bintulu will have its new airport which can accommodate Boeing 737 aircrafts and more tourists.
