Birla Institute Of Management Technology (BIMTECH), established in 1988 is an educational institution in India. BIMTECH's campus is located in Greater Noida and a city-centre in New Delhi.

The Institute was established under the aegis Birla Academy of Art and Culture. The Institute is supported by B.K. Birla group of companies. Dr. (Smt) Sarala Birla, Chairperson of Birla Academy and Syt. B.K.Birla, chairperson of B.K. Birla Group. The Institute offers seven courses (Business Management, International Business, Insurance and Risk Management, Retailing & Merchandising Management and Entrepreneurship & Family Business). Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi is Director of BIMTECH.

The Institute was founded by Dr. (Smt) Sarala Birla, Chairperson of Birla Academy and Syt. B.K.Birla, chairperson of B.K. Birla Group of companies. Mr. R N Jaju is the founding Chairman of the Institute. Birla family is one of the India's first and most wealthy business family.

[edit] PGDBM

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management is the oldest program being offered by the Centre of Business Management (CBM). Approved by the All India council for Technical Education (AICTE), MHRD, the program has an intake of 120 students. There are two options:-

  • Two Year-Full time.
  • Three Year-Part time.

[edit] Post Graduate Diploma in International Business(PGDIB)

It is a two-year, AICTE-approved, full time program to cope with the challenges to

  • Understand complexity in the field of international business
  • Train the participants on how to identify new and existing opportunities in the area of international business and explore them.
  • Manage global business and trade.

This Course was launched in the year 2000 by the Centre for Insurance and Risk Management (CIRM). Accredited by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA), Govt. of India, the course has an intake of 120 students.

  • Master's in Insurance Business Management
    • Two Year - Full time
  • Doctorate in Insurance

The institute in response to the growing need of skilled manpower in the rapidly expanding organized retail industry started the following programmes :

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Retailing & Merchandising Management,
    • One Year-Full time.
  • Masters in Retailing and Merchandising Management
    • Two Year-Full time.

BIMTECH has over 30 full-time faculty (Residing in Campus) and on a daily and yearly basis about 50 and 150 respectively visiting faculty.

Most of the institutes research work is published in the form of popular writing, study reports, journals, research papers, interviews, newsletters etc. The institute publishes three bi-annual journals and a bi-monthly newsletter. The Journals of the Institute attract research papers from all over the world. The journals cover topic from general management, 2006 specific fields of management, as also insurance and allied areas like risk management. Bimtech also claims first national report on insurance industry known as "India Insurance Report".

Lecture Rooms and Conference Halls Well- equipped air conditioned, 'U' Shaped lecture theatres to promote interactive classes, seminars and work shops as well as large conferences and major international symposia. Large and spacious auditoriums, lecture rooms/halls, fitted with audio-visual equipment, are the added facilities. The entire campus has through the WiFi mode to enable Internet access at all the places within the campus.

BIMTECH offers only residential programmes at Master's level. Hostel rooms are as per the apartment system, each apartment has four separate rooms with a common recreational room and a space for kitchen. Common recreational room are shared by four people and this room has got 10/100 Ethernet connections, a television and a refrigerator. The hostels are centrally air contortioned with full power backup and are well equipped with necessary furniture, telephone, water coolers, refrigerators, recreational facilities like TV and indoor games. The mess facility is offered in the hostel itself. Internet connectivity is provided in each room of the hostel.

The health services are provided in the campus. Any major health problem which is out of the expertise of the campus medical officer is taken care of by the nearby multi-specialty hospital. The gymnasium and sport centers cater to the recreational needs of the student and staff.

The institute has paid telephone booths for national and international calls and faxes.

[edit] Tuck Shop, Cafeteria & Other Services

Campus has a Tuck Shop for purchase of routine utility and other requirements. It also has shop for books stationary and computer peripherals. The services of Laundry, Fruit, Vendor, Milk Vendor, Hair Stylist are available on campus.

The library is operational for more than 16 hours in a day and is planning to offer round the clock services. The library has a collection of over 10,000 titles of books and nearly 200 International and national journals. The institute is also a member of DELNET, which provides ready access to libraries of leading institutions from National Capital Region. Library is actively seeking to augment its international journal resource base by being member of EBSCO web based electronic journals database, which allows access to 4000 international journals of repute. Specialized software for data related to industries and economies are part of learning resources.

Campus is WiFi enabled and also provides 600 terminals to connect at various locations throughout the campus. There are two computer labs with 100 terminals in the academic block and individual network facility in the hostel rooms makes it easy to access the material provided by the faculty to the students .Participants are always encouraged to bring their computer or laptop for uninterrupted utilization of the facility.
