Hi, my name is Eli Bildirici. I am a practicing Orthodox Jew and have lived in the Syrian Jewish Community in Brooklyn, NY/Deal, NJ for 19 years (all my life).

My background, however, is for the most part not Syrian. Both of my parents are from Istanbul, hence the non-Syrian last name. My mother's parents are both Ladino/Spanish Jews from Istanbul, my father's father is from present-day Gaziantep (where customs follow those in Aleppo) and my father's mother grew up in Beirut.

I am currently a sophomore at NYU's College of Arts and Science. I have no major just yet, but am passionate about history and computer science, so it's probably going to be some combination thereof. I'm coming to Wikipedia now to create my own wikiality...but really because I wanna leave my mark on such a useful and dependable resource.
