Bilsthorpe

Bilsthorpe is a village and civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 3,076. It is about five miles south of Ollerton, and near the junction of the A614 and A617. The village has 2 children's play-parks. These are often neglected but recently a park situated in the new village has been improved with an obstacle course, new swings, and new tarmac. The village also has a medium sized duck-pond. The types of ducks are numerous. Most of the housing in the village is sub-standard; this is due to high unemployment and has led to urban deprivation. Most of the people live below the poverty line.
