Billionaire Ted

Billionaire Ted was a character created by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1996 to poke fun at the World Championship Wrestling owner (and owner of several TV networks, among other things) Ted Turner. He was featured in many vignettes featuring "The Nacho Man" (spoof of Macho Man Randy Savage) and "The Huckster" (spoof of "The Hulkster" Hulk Hogan). They were supposed to 'prove' that the WWF had younger, stronger talent and smarter staff.

The vignettes drew to a close at the WrestleMania XII Free For All show, when Billionaire Ted refereed a match between the Huckster and the Nacho Man. After the match, Billionaire Ted died (kayfabe) in the ring from a heart attack.
