Billa (2007) is a forthcoming high budget Tamil film directed by Vishnuvardhan. The film is produced by Suresh Balaji son of Balaji. His father produced the film, Billa which this is a remake of. Billa is inspired by the Hindi films, Don. Yuvan Shankar Raja is set to compose the music for this film and a couple of old numbers are going to be remixed. The film is set for release in late 2007 or early 2008. Shooting will start after Ajith's next projects, Aalwar and Kireddom.
Rajinikanth, who played lead role in the older version offered his words of wisdom to The Phoenix, as they call him, Ajith Kumar. Ajith has been considered the best choice for shouldering the responsibility as the lead role of Billa in the contemporary tamil cinema.
