[edit] Treble Charger
Main Article: Treble Charger
Bill Priddle was one of the first members of Treble Charger, along with Greig Nori, Rosie Martin and Morris Palter. Originally, the four of them called themselves "nc-17" (after the movie rating), until an American band of the same name had threatened to sue them, thus "Treble Charger" was born. However, they still called their first album nc-17. The group's first hit "Red" was written by Bill Priddle and was also re-recorded for their 1997 album Maybe It's Me. The second version seemed to be more of a success but wasn't posted as one due to the fact that their first album "nc-17" was also re-released that same year.
At first, Treble Charger was an indie rock group until its 1997 album Maybe It's Me, which was the band's transition to pop punk. In 2001, Wide Awake Bored was their first official pop punk album. Bill Priddle was spotted without his glasses in 2001 and was never seen wearing them again.
In 2003, Bill Priddle left Treble Charger for good. He said that he left Treble Charger because punk rock "wasn't his style" and he claimed that he wanted to spend more time with his daughter. He officially left in September that year, earlier than expected due to the fact that Nori told him to. He also left due to the fact that it was Greig Nori who had started writing the songs ever since they became a punk rock band as Priddle had been the composer before when they used to be an indie rock group.
[edit] Don Vail
Bill Priddle is now a part of an Indie Rock band, Don Vail, consisting of other members Mitch Bowden, Dave Dunham and Chris Bell (all ex-members of Chore). In a 2005 interview, Bill says he feels "the same sense of joy and optimism on this trip as I did 11 years ago, back when Treble Charger was shiny and new." [1]. Priddle plays guitar and sings backing vocals in Don Vail. The band Don Vail are currently recording their new album.
