Bill Hilf

Bill Hilf is General Manager of Platform Strategy at Microsoft.

With a long background in open source, he has worked to build bridges between Microsoft and the Linux and Open Source communities both politically and also technically.

He previously worked at IBM [1] where he led their Linux technical strategy.

He has had a high public profile, including a Slashdot interview, speeches at events such as LinuxWorld, posts on the recently launched Microsoft Open Source Software Lab blog[2] and work promoting Windows PowerShell and the Unix support in Windows Server 2003 R2.
