From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bill Good is a Canadian television personality and radio talk show host. He currently co-anchors the 6:00pm newscast on Vancouver's CIVT-TV alongside Pamela Martin.

He was born in Winnipeg to and raised in Vancouver by Bill Good Sr., an award winning sports writer and broadcaster. Bill Good Jr. began his career in broadcasting at radio station CHTK in Prince Rupert in 1965. He moved to Victoria's CFAX a year later, then served as the Vancouver presenter for Hockey Night in Canada and other network sports events on CBC in the 1970s, including two Olympics.

He was the presenter for the local evening newscast on Vancouver CBC television O&O CBUT from 1978 to 1988. Good left the CBC for a daily talk show on CKNW AM 980, which he continues to host as of 2006. From 1993 to 2001, he anchored the Vancouver edition of Canada Tonight, broadcast on BCTV (then Vancouver's CTV affiliate). He moved to CIVT-TV in 2001 after that station became Vancouver's CTV O&O.

Bill Good is known for his calm, friendly broacasting style, an excellent knowledge of Canadian, BC and Vancouver's history and politics, and his unwavering middle-of-the-road position during on-air interviews, which has helped him to stay in his seat much longer than other, more outspoken local radio personalities.

Good used to live in North Vancouver but recently moved to Downtown Vancouver where he has purchased a condo. He has two adult children, a son who is said to work as a cook at Whistler and a daughter who went to teach English in the UK and married an Englishman.
