[edit] History

Bilişim Kulübü was founded on January 6, 2005. The goal was to make team members of a software project share their IT knowledge. In order to achieve this goal, one of the team members (fizikci) created a web application in the form of a dictionary. The members of this web application, the team members, could create entries on IT concepts. After deciding that this would be a good IT community web site, the dictionary became online with the name Bilişim Kulübü.

[edit] Structure

The web site has three sections:

  • IT Dictionary: It's just a dictionary, however the main difference is that there are more than one definition about one term. Each definition (entry) is submitted by a member. A member submits a new entry with a title. The title and the entry should somehow be related with the IT area. The other members can contribute this title by writing new entries or voting the entry. While writing an entry one can make a word link by writing "(bkz:" before the word and ":bkz)" after the word. This is called "bakınız vermek - to give see also".
  • Articles: The members of Bilişim Kulübü write and publish their own articles on Articles section. The articles are related with IT also.
  • Help Desk: As the name suggests, visitors of the web site can ask questions to the Help Desk and the members give answers.
