BIKE Athletic Company

BIKE Athletic Company (aka, the Bike Company) is a sportswear company. They invented the jockstrap in 1872 for bicycle delivery boys in Boston. They remain the market leader, having sold over 300 million jockstraps.
BIKE now produces additional protective sports equipment such as multi-purpose knee pads, elbow pads, gloves and football shoulder pads. The company also produces uniform jerseys and pants for football, basketball, baseball and softball. At one time, BIKE produced athletic shoes and a wider range of sports-related apparel.
As of 2003, BIKE is a subsidiary of Russell Athletic, a subsidiary of Fruit of the Loom which is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.
