Big Mutha Truckers is a video game released in 2002 by Eutechnyx. The goal of the game is to earn as much money as possible by delivering goods and competing in races with other truckers in the fictional Hick County.

There are 4 playable characters in this game: Cletus Jackson, Earl Jackson, Rawkus Jackson and Bobbie-Sue Jackson. They're all siblings who were raised by their mother, Ma Jackson. Ma is the owner of BMT (Big Mutha Truckers) Inc.

The game uses Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild" as its theme-song.

[edit] Plot

Ma Jackson is planning to retire from her company and wishes to hire a loved one to run the business for her. After not finding anyone willing to run the business for her, she decides to let one of her four children have it. She sets up a challenge called "Trial by Trucking" in which the four must compete for 60 days making deliveries to the various cities of Hick State County. The one with the most money by the end of the time limit will receive the company.

[edit] Playable characters

[edit] Bobbie-Sue Jackson

Appearances can be deceptive. On the outside, she's as pretty as a pig in a pitcher. But cross her path and you'll see the effect growing up with three older brothers can have on a girl! Bobbie-Sue is tough, independent and doesn't take sass from anybody.

[edit] Cletus Jackson

Some men are born to greatness. Others have greatness thrust upon them. And others spend their time in a fruit cellar with their best friend, Stuart the Pig. Can you guess which category Cletus falls into? He's quite harmless. Most of the time.

[edit] Earl Jackson

'Big' Earl (as he likes to call himself) is the oldest of Ma's kids. He believes in the values of liberty, equality and guns for all. When he's not driving his truck he likes drinking beer, eating fried pork products, watching sports and drinking more beer.

[edit] Rawkus Jackson

If there were one word to describe Rawkus K. Jackson, it would be 'smooth.' 'Cool would be equally applicable. As would 'chilled.' And - well, you get the idea. However, underneath this laid-back exterior beats the heart of a passionate man, as all the 'fine ladies' of Hick State County would agree!

[edit] Trial By Trucking

Within Hick State County there are six cities the player can visit: Salt Sea City, Capital City, Greenback, Skeeter's Creek, Smokestack Heights, and BMT Inc.

In each city there are 3 different places the player can go.

The garage is where the player can repair damages to their truck, refuel gas, switch out trailers so that they can carry certain types of loads, and buy upgrades to their truck. The player can also design a custom logo to be displayed on their trailer.

The bar is where the player can learn about towns that are in need of a supply of a certain product, play the slot machine, visit the "Loan Shark" who can lend the player money, but only if he pays it back within a certain time, or, on occasion, accept side-missions.

The store is where the player can sell their current load, or purchase a new load, if they have the correct trailer on their truck.

At BMT Inc., the bar and store options are replaces with the Momma option. The player can use this to visit Ma and learn how they stack up compared to the three other siblings.

On the road, the player can earn extra money by crashing into other vehicles. Combos created by hitting these vehicles multiply the points. Hitting a vehicle with the trailer of the truck adds a double multiplyer to the score. If the player gets a high enough combo, icons appear on the road for a short time. These icons, when picked up, can automatically refuel the truck, repair damages, etc.

The player must be careful not to collide with a biker or a police officer. Police officers will give chase and arrest the player if the truck is stopped. The player will then have to start off in the last city visited. The bikers will chase the truck while shooting at the truck, causing damage. Sometimes, one biker will jump onto the trailer of the truck, walk their way up towards the cab, and detach the trailer from the cab. The player can swerve to knock off the biker on the trailer.

There are five radio stations in the game. Yak FM is a talk station. Yeehaw! FM is a country station. K-Rok is a rock station that occasionally plays Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild". Space 108 is a techno station. MC Escher is a rap station.

After the 60 days of the challenge, the player will be confronted by Evil Bob, the fifth sibling who left the family many years ago. The player must then race Evil Bob back to BMT Inc.

[edit] Mission Mode

Throughout "Trial by Trucking" mode, the player may be offered side-missions by the bartenders at the bars in each city. These side-missions, playable once beaten by selecting "Mission Mode", often involve driving from Point-A to Point-B, usually with some kind of time limit involved.

[edit] Sequel

In 2005, the sequel Big Mutha Truckers 2 was released.
