Big Impression

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Big Impression is a British comedy sketch show. It was formerly known as Alistair McGowan's Big Impression after impressionist Alistair McGowan, but renamed Big Impression to accommodate female impressionist Ronni Ancona, who does almost as many impressions as McGowan. In 2003, she won the Best TV Comedy Actress award at the British Comedy awards for her role in the series. On a September edition of GMTV Alistair McGowan appeared as guest on GMTV and explained that there would not be another series of Big Impression due to the unpopular first series.

Popular take-offs include Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen, Carol Smillie, Richard and Judy, David and Victoria Beckham, Ruby Wax and Michael Parkinson.

There have also been numerous one-off specials, including:

  • Alistair McGowan's BigEnders;
  • Alistair McGowan's Big World Cup;
  • Posh & Becks' Big Impression.
